Reading Pope Benedict XVI’s Jesus of Nazareth, Holy Week: From the Entrance into Jerusalem to the Resurrection is worth the endeavor.

Reading Chapter Two, on “Jesus’ Eschatological Discourse,” I came across this beautiful quotation:

The Cross is and remains the sign of “the Son of Man”: ultimately, in the battle against lies and violence, truth and love have no other weapon than the witness of suffering.
